Again, many students of English as a Second Language or ESL have some trouble managing their prepositions.
These are some of the words that go with the preposition. Enjoy going over them. ^_^
Agree
Do you agree with hitting children to discipline them?
Begin
Some English words are really confusing for many ESL students. For example, Psychology begins with P, but the P is silent.
Communicate
How often do you communicate with your friends abroad? Do you communicate with them regularly?
Compare
Never compare your beauty with that of another woman. We are all beautiful in our own unique way.
Compete
In anything you do, just give it your best shot. You don't have to compete with anybody.
Comply
If you want to keep your job, you should comply with all the company rules.
Confuse
Please don't confuse Raise with Rise. They are two different words.
Contrast
Her sweet manner of speaking contrasts with her nasty attitude.
Cope
She has to learn how to cope with stress.
Please
My professor was not pleased with my presentation. She wants me to do more research on my topic and make a presentation again.
Quarrel
She had a quarrel with her boyfriend. Now, she refuses to talk to him.
Reason
It's difficult to reason with people who believe only what they choose to believe.
Satisfy
My professor was not satisfied with my project. She wants me to do it all over again.
Threaten
The burglar threatened the house owner with a toy gun.
